Born and raised in San Diego, CA, Dr. Yoon received his bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley. After working and finding that engineering wasn’t quite the perfect fit, he pursued a newfound interest at the SUNY College of Optometry, where he became president of the Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH) chapter and a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. Yoon completed his clinical training in New York City at Compton Eye Associates, the University Eye Center’s Contact Lens clinic, and Gouverneur Health, followed by an optional one-year residency with the VA New Jersey Health Care System. He is passionate about comprehensive eye care, myopia control, and managing various conditions, including dry eye, eyelid infections, acute red eyes, cataract, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and keratoconus. He has experience fitting all types of contact lenses, including soft, astigmatic, multifocal, hybrid, corneal & scleral gas-permeable (GP), and orthokeratology lenses.
In his leisure time, Dr. Yoon enjoys discovering good food & coffee, exploring with his camera, relaxing with TV shows or video games, and spending time with his wife Emily. He is honored to bring his services to the West Orange community.

Emily Lau, Technician
Emily is an optometric technician at Eagle Rock Eyecare and the wife of Dr. Yoon. She received a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and worked in the renewable energy sector before pivoting to healthcare. As a longtime wearer of glasses and contact lenses, Emily is passionate about helping provide exceptional vision care and a comfortable experience. In her free time, she likes reading books, crocheting cozy things, and spending time in nature.
Marina Masry, Technician
Marina is an optometric technician at Eagle Rock Eyecare. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Biology at NJIT and plans to continue her education in optometry. Passionate about vision care and patient well-being, Marina is eager to expand her knowledge of eye health while helping patients receive the support and care they need. Outside of academics and work, she enjoys serving in her church community, reading, and spending time with her family watching movies.
